East Bay Nursery
A great diversity is one attraction
here. If your neighborhood nursery doesn’t have something, chances are it can
be found at East Bay.
Founded in 1926, East Bay occupies a vast area, every
inch jam packed with plants and associated items. A narrow sidewalk grid of
plain cement cuts through the domestic jungle.
On a first visit, you might be tempted to think of this
is a Wal-Mart for plants. It isn’t. Quality is high, and prices not cut-rate.
The staff is knowledgeable, and cheerful.
Frank goes here for the large selection of trees and
shrubs. Their treatment of young Japanese maples is excellent, pruning so as to
insure that the tree is started well.
