Magic Gardens Nursery
This nursery has one of the state's largest
selections of sun and shade perennials.
It owns and operates a large propagation facility in
Richmond which constantly develops varieties suitable for the Bay Area's
Mediterranean climate (arid summers and seasonal rainfall).
It has moved from Berkeley (October 2001), but is still only
four miles away, and is four times larger.
The nursery offers a great variety of sun and shade
shrubs, trees, vines, water plants, vegetables and herbs, annuals, citrus, fruit
trees, roses, cactus and succulents, ornamental grasses and ground covers.
Since the Bay Area is one of the best Camellia
climates in the world, Magic Gardens has taken on itself to develop these. Their
productions range from fancy delicate small flowered camellias to large flowered
showy hybrids.
The nursery also provides various flowers for minimum
maintenance in the Bay Area climate.
