Preston Vineyards

Here is a surprise, a California vineyard making European-style wines.
Years ago, on advice from North Berkeley Wine, I bought a bottle of Faux red made by Preston Vineyards. It was billed as an experiment, an attempt to duplicate a Rhone red, with various grape varieties contributing.
The experiment, I thought, succeeded very well.
Now I check on the Web, and see that Lou Preston has gone much further. In addition to his Dry Creek Traditional wines he now has seven Rhone-style wines, and three Italian varietals.
Check out the Website at www.prestonvineyards.com. This site is admirably informative about the wines, and you can order by mail.
